01. Falesia

Remaiolo
After Fetovaia you reach Marina di Campo and from here you can choose if pass from Procchio and Portoferraio, or take the shortest track of “Monumento” passing through Lacona.
Once reached Capoliveri, exactly in front of the town hall, begins the dirt road that in 12 Km takes to the Gabbiani Coast, from which the residence where the dirt road ends takes name.
From here we can reach two falaises, the youngest, “Baia dei Pirati” is next to “Remaiolo” which takes its name from the rock that there is in front of it, the Remaiolo rock, and it’s the point of the extreme south of the island.
The rock is of lava origin and it’s very tough, you can ask it to Filippo Lenzi, from Bologna and Andrea Bazzani from Modena, how many points and how many batteries have wasted to make the holes and resin the taproots. The degrees goes from V at 6c+ at the Baia dei Piarati and from 6c to 7c+ at Remaiolo.
To reach the falaises you must ask the bar key at the residence reception, where you will find always availability. If someone wants to have a walk and go without car to the falaises from the bar to the falaises there are at least 5 or 6 Km.

Ginepro
The other falaise, is at the “Ginepro” beach. Here there are any kind of tracks, from the wall laid with a two throws route, at the cliff , from IV to 7b.
Lava rock like at Remaiolo. Also this street is closed by a bar, but if you can’t find the key, you can reach this place easily on foot too.
Besides going down by car you gain only few hundreds of meters. The last road tract is a path lightly difficult, but when you are on the beach, that is never crowded, you can leave wives and fiancée sunbathing and also alone you can have fun on boulder on the cliffs sector, that we call “la grotta” where in winter even if it’s raining you can find shelter. It’s sheltered from many winds and if it’s cold you can put on pile and cap and invent acrobatic boulder.
