The Ancorone
In the open sea, about a mile to the
North far from Vita Cape, we find a bank with a cap at about -29 mt.
The depth is sand mixed with Posidonia and it’s the choreography to
a medieval anchor of about 5 mt high. Around the anchor there are
permanent big schools of Sargos, Morays, Lobsters and Scorpion
fishes. The bank slopes down till about -40 mt, because we are in
open sea we can often meet big pelagic fishes during the hunting and
, in some months of the year, we can easily meet Spotted Eagle Rays
and Sunfishes.
