Ausonia 1
In the channel between Pianosa and
Capraia there is this bank with a cap at about – 34 mt. The granitic
depth, often frequented by big size Black seabreams, hides other
really interesting forms of life. Moving to the bank extremity we
find some falls that drop down vertically toward the depth where we
will find splits covered by big Yellow Sponges. The walls are very
coloured and rich in life and with a diversified ecosystem. In some
periods of the year here it’s easy to find different species of Sea
slugs that make happy the macro photographer. Dentex, Groupers,
tunas and Ombres are the principal frequenters of this place but
they are not permanent, but we can say that they are very fond of
this place maybe because the good currents conditions.
