The Corbella
By Stella Cape there is the Corbella
small island from where this diving site takes name. The North part
of the rock is demanding but very rich in life, Sargos, Greater
amberjack, Dentex and Red Sea fans. Here you can also see Caulerpa
Taxifolia, the so called killer alga very diffused in the Atlantic
Ocean and in Indo-Pacific, but today it can be found in our depth of
the Corbella. The South part is quite easy and it’s very charming
for its biological diversity, sloping down toward -35 mt there are
Red Coral branches and many other encrustations of different very
coloured sponges that make this diving point very sensational and
fascinating. Not to forget is the Statue of the Bear, placed at
about -22 mt, about 60 cm high, that inexplicably reports the
kilometric distance between Elba and Berlin.
