01. Pilone

The bank is placed on the Marine Park of Pianosa limit, the cap is at -25 mt and its principal characteristic is a big split turned toward Calamita Point (Elba Island), it’s very rich in life and very coloured. The split is totally covered by Parazoanthus and its gorges make it an ideal refuge for every kind of hole fish like Morays, Congers, but also big Crustaceans. Separated from the main rock, at a depth of about – 35 mt. there are two rocks which are often frequented by Sargos. In some periods of the year here it’s easy to sight Spotted Eagle Rays and big Black seabreams hunting.
