Fonza Bank
Doubled Stella Cape and arrived at
Fonza Cape, at about -3/6 mt depth, there is the Fonza Bank cap,
it’s one of the most charming diving of the Elba Island. The
characteristic vertical wall to the East side of the bank sinks till
-40 mt, almost in every hollow we can find coloured Red Coral
branches about 5/7 cm tall, the diving is really opened to everybody
because it’s possible to carry out different multilevel profiles
that satisfy every diving demand. Along the depth, at the foot of
the wall, the background becomes more coloured and winning, there
are yellow sponges and you can meet quite certainly Greater
fork-beard and big Crustaceans which make this diving point very
rich in life. Thanks to the particular currents to which this bank
is exposed to, the biological life is very intense and the colours
are very bright, the attentive divers will notice the thick presence
of Sea slugs of different species and families. In the South part of
the bank at about -25 mt there is a plateau very rich in Yellow Sea
fans, where you can easily meet Octopuses and Groupers and many
other different kind of fishes. The running up to the surface is
very charming, thanks to the clearness of the water you can see a
fantastic play of light and shades.
