We are in Piombino channel next to the Palmaiola Island and here we find a rock called the Frate rock, from here the diving site take its name. This bank is really nice, it has a cap at -3 mt and it slopes down till a depth of about -30 mt, the characteristic split on the submerged rock is now some hole fishes house like Groupers, Congers, Morays and Scorpion fishes. There are also Yellow Sea Fans, Parazoanthus that colour with an intense yellow the wall split and East side. Here we are in the middle of the Piombino channel and often the current is very strong, just for this around the bank there are many different kind of pelagic fishes that hunt and in some period of the year become permanent.
